Educational Qualification
Option 1:
- B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing or B.Sc. Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing Council recognized Institute or University; or
- B.Sc. (Post-Certificate) or Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing Council recognized Institute or University.
- The candidate must be registered as a Nurse and Midwife with the State Nursing Council or Indian Nursing Council.
OR
Option 2:
- Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) from an Indian Nursing Council/State Nursing Council recognized Institute, Board or Council.
- The candidate must be registered as a Nurse and Midwife with the State Nursing Council or Indian Nursing Council.
- Two years of experience in a minimum 50-bedded hospital after acquiring the required educational qualification.

The selection of candidates will be conducted through the following stages:

Stage-I: NORCET Preliminary Examination
- Duration: 90 minutes
- Total Questions: 100 MCQs
- Total Marks: 100
- General Knowledge and Aptitude: 20 questions
- Nursing Subjects: 80 questions
- Negative Marking: 1/3 mark for each wrong answer
The question paper will be divided into five sections of 18 minutes each. Each section will contain 20 questions.
Note: The NORCET Preliminary Examination will not be used for determining the final merit or rank.
Stage-II: NORCET Main Examination
- Duration: 180 minutes
- Total Questions: 160 MCQs
- Total Marks: 160
- Question Type: Case scenario-based nursing questions
- Negative Marking: 1/3 mark for each wrong answer
The Main Examination will be divided into four sections of 45 minutes each, with 40 questions in each section.
