State Eligibility Test (SET) 2026 Notification:-The State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) Commission, Assam (NE Region) has released the official notification for the State Eligibility Test (SET) 2026. This competitive examination aims to create a pool of eligible candidates for the post of Assistant Professor in universities and colleges across the North Eastern states, similar to the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC.

Age Limit:
There is no age limit to appear in SLET Exam. Candidates can apply at any age.
Educational Qualification
Candidates
must have:
- General / EWS / Unreserved – 55% marks in Master Degree
- SC / ST / OBC-NCL / PWD – 50% marks in Master Degree
- Master degree must be from a UGC recognized university
- Final year appearing candidates can also apply

candidates must apply for the State Eligibility Test (SET) 2026 exclusively
through the official SLET Portal. Follow these steps to complete your
application:

to the official SLET Commission website:

the Application Link:
Locate the Important Web-Links section on the homepage.
3.
Initial
Registration: Click
on the "Online Application Form" link to begin the
registration process. You will need to provide basic details (name, email,
phone number) to generate your unique Registration Number and Password.
4.
Login
to the Portal: Use
the generated Registration Number and Password to log in again via the "Online
Application Form" link.
5.
Fill
the Form: Complete
the detailed application form by accurately entering all personal, academic,
and subject-specific details.
6.
Document
Upload: Upload
the necessary scanned documents, including your photograph and signature, as
per the specifications (size and format) mentioned in the official
notification.
7.
Fee
Payment: Proceed to
the payment gateway to pay the application fee online, based on your
category (General, OBC, SC, ST, PWD, etc.).
8.
Final
Submission: Review
all the entered information carefully and then submit the final
application form.
9.
Print
Confirmation: After
successful submission and payment, make sure to download and take a printout
of the final submitted application form for future reference.
