Job Responsibilities of Social Expert
The Social Expert will be responsible for supporting and monitoring social development activities under the project.
- Coordinate with the Environment and Social Management Unit (ESMU).
- Prepare and deliver quarterly training on social inclusion, gender, participatory planning, citizen engagement, land management and grievance management.
- Support the Free Prior Informed Consent (FPIC) process.
- Coordinate with the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council regarding land acquisition.
- Monitor land acquisition progress.
- Ensure compensation and resettlement and rehabilitation assistance are completed as required.
- Conduct social-risk screening of sub-projects.
- Review ESIAs, ESMPs, RAPs, IPDPs and related documents.
- Monitor implementation of social and environmental measures.
- Coordinate with contractors, PWRD field staff, consultants and communities.
- Support stakeholder consultations and citizen feedback.
- Monitor the grievance management system and Grievance Redressal Committees.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly social management reports.
- Conduct regular field visits.
