Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
- The candidate must be at least 21 years old.
- The maximum age should not exceed 40 years as on 1st January 2026.
Age Relaxation
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC/MOBC: 3 years
Educational Qualification
1. Hindi Reporter
- Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
- Must have a Diploma in Hindi Stenography with a qualifying speed of 80 words per minute.
- Must possess knowledge/qualification in Hindi DTP typewriting from a recognized institution.
- Must have a minimum 6-month Diploma or Certificate in Computer Application.
- Should have sound knowledge of Assamese and English languages.
- Candidates with knowledge or experience in Parliamentary functioning may receive preference.
2. Hindi Translator
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
- Hindi must have been one of the subjects during the course of study.
- Must have sound knowledge of Assamese and English literature.
- Must possess a 6-month Diploma or Certificate in Computer Application.
- Preference may be given to candidates having experience or knowledge of Parliamentary functioning or Hindi newspaper reporting.
3. Bengali Translator
- Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
- Bengali must have been one of the subjects during the course.
- Should have sound knowledge of Assamese, English and Bengali literature.
- Must possess a 6-month Diploma or Certificate in Computer Application.
- Preference may be given to candidates with knowledge or experience in Parliamentary functioning or Bengali newspaper reporting.
4. Karbi Translator
- Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
- Candidate should have sound knowledge of Assamese, English and Karbi language/literature.
- Must possess a 6-month Diploma or Certificate in Computer Application.
- Preference may be given to candidates having knowledge or experience in Parliamentary functioning or Karbi newspaper reporting.
Employment Terms
- All appointments will be purely temporary and contractual.
- The initial appointment period will be six months.
- The engagement may be extended depending on the requirement of work.
- No TA/DA will be provided for appearing in the test or interview.
Selection Process
The Assam Legislative Assembly Secretariat will conduct the recruitment process according to the following procedure:
