IBPS RRB Eligibility Criteria 2026
Candidates must fulfill the prescribed eligibility conditions regarding nationality, age, educational qualification, experience and local-language proficiency.
Nationality
The candidate must generally be a citizen of India. The notification also provides eligibility for certain subjects of Nepal or Bhutan, Tibetan refugees and specified persons of Indian origin, subject to the conditions mentioned in the official notification.

Educational Qualification
Office Assistant (Multipurpose)
Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or its equivalent.
Proficiency in the local language prescribed for the concerned RRB is also required. Working knowledge of computers is desirable.
Officer Scale-I – Assistant Manager
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent.
Preference may be given to candidates having degrees in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics or Accountancy.
Officer Scale-II – General Banking Officer
A Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks is required.
Candidates should also have two years of experience as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.
Officer Scale-II – IT Officer
A Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Communication, Computer Science, Information Technology or an equivalent qualification with a minimum of 50% marks is required.
The prescribed experience is one year in the relevant field.
Officer Scale-II – Chartered Accountant
Candidates should be a Certified Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and have one year of experience as a Chartered Accountant.
Officer Scale-II – Law Officer
Candidates should possess a Law degree with at least 50% marks.
The required experience is two years as an advocate or two years of experience as a Law Officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.
Officer Scale-II – Treasury Manager
Candidates should possess CA or MBA in Finance from a recognized university/institution along with one year of relevant experience.
Officer Scale-II – Marketing Officer
Candidates should possess an MBA in Marketing from a recognized university along with one year of relevant experience.
Officer Scale-II – Agricultural Officer
Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Dairy, Animal Husbandry, Forestry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering or Pisciculture with at least 50% marks.
Two years of relevant experience is required.
Officer Scale-III – Senior Manager
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks.
A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Officer in a Bank or Financial Institution is required.
Local Language Requirement for Assam
For Assam Gramin Bank, the notification specifies Assamese, Bengali and Bodo as the desired local languages.

Negative Marking
There is negative marking in the objective examinations. For every wrong answer, one-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted.
